Rohit Sharma is preparing to play in his seventh T20 World Cup for India but, as India search for a second title, what is his net worth?

Rohit Sharma continues long T20 career

Opening batter Sharma will continue his record of being the only Indian player to play in every edition of the T20 World Cup.

The veteran played in the inaugural tournament in 2007, which India won against Pakistan in Johannesburg.

Since his debut, he has played a record 111 T20 internationals for his country, producing 2,864 runs.

They’ve come at an average of 32.18, with a high score of 118 against Sri Lanka in 2017.

During his long career, which has also included 43 Tests and 227 ODIs, Sharma has been well rewarded for his efforts in terms of prize money and sponsorships.

Rohit Sharma’s net worth revealed

The 34-year-old is one of India’s biggest cricketing stars and has signed sponsorship deals with the likes of Hublot and Adidas.

His current net worth as of 2021 is in the region of $25 million. That is more than £18.1 million.

Sharma earns about $1 million a year from the BCCI in India. That is because he is listed as a Grade A* player on the roster.

The likes of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah also appear on that list.

On top of this fixed sum, like all Indian players the left-hander earns match fees. They range from about $200,000 per Test match to $5,000 for a T20I.

Rohit Sharma’s wife

Mumbai Indian’s IPL skipper Sharma has been married to Rikita Sajdeh since late 2015.

The wedding was attended by the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Ravindra Jadeja.

The couple’s first child, a daughter, was born in 2018.

Her birth saw Sharma miss the Test at Sydney Cricket Ground during India’s tour of Australia.
