Taylor Swift and Adam Young`s history explored as Enchanted blows up

Taylor Swift’s old song, Enchanted, has recently blown up on TikTok, so fans are now realising that the song was inspired by her ‘relationship’ with Owl City’s Adam Young.
With TikTok, almost any song can go viral now; whether it’s old or new, as long as it becomes the background track of a trend, then it’s going to gain some streams.
Taylor Swift’s Enchanted is the latest song to make a comeback after TikTok users have been using it as the tune to their emotional videos as they reflect on their relationships.
“Please don’t be in love with someone else, please don’t have somebody waiting on you” sings Taylor.
Swift’s songs are famous for their boyfriend inspiration, and fans are shocked to learn about the man behind Enchanted.

Yes, you read that right.
The now 31-year-old had a crush on Owl City’s Adam Young over 10 years ago. At the time, Adam was around 24 years old, while Taylor was about aged 20.
As for Enchanted, it is from Swift’s third album, Speak Now, which she revealed was her opportunity to tell people what she didn’t get to say to them. “Each song is a different confession to a different person”, she said.
Though it was dedicated to Adam, the pair never actually dated.
They communicated over email before finally meeting in New York City.
She described the overwhelming feeling of hoping that he wasn’t in love in somebody else, as written in the lyrics.
“And the whole entire way home, I remember the glittery New York City buildings passing by, and then just sitting there thinking, am I ever going to talk to this person again?
And that pining away for a romance that may never even happen, but all you have is this hope that it could, and the fear that it never will.”
She purposefully used the word wonderstruck in the lyrics since the guy wrote it once in an email, so Taylor made it pretty obvious.
Their exchanges only went on for three to four months, and nothing more came out of it, other than Adam’s song response.
Adam Young serenades Taylor Swift in his reply
He revealed that he was the mystery man after deciphering the letters in the Speak Now album, which reportedly spelt out A-D-A-M.
On top of that, her lyric jacket apparently capitalised the four letters as another hint.
He wrote on his now-deleted blog:
“The track is absolutely gorgeous and I’m so tremendously honored that Taylor would write such an elegant song, and thereby, offer a gracious nod in my direction.
Needless to say, I was lost for words and utterly smitten. I couldn’t stop smiling.”
He responded in the most appropriate way possible: a song with altered lyrics, and it’s adorable.

Meghan Rienks is a ‘method Swiftie’
Meghan Rienks, an actress and YouTuber, is also causing some talk with her version of the TikTok trend. It looks like the song hits home closer to her than anyone else, other than Taylor.
Her video is captioned with: “Remembering the time I lived this song with the same guy Taylor wrote it about”, calling herself “a method Swiftie” – if you didn’t know, Rienks is a huge fan.
Her followers are having an omg-worthy moment after realising she was involved with the Owl City singer.
Some have understood it as Meghan having live streamed with Adam or having actually lived with him.
However, she has replied with a firm no to the live stream comment.
The creator also liked a reply saying: “she had the experience the song talks about with the same person Taylor wrote it about! (Lead singer of Owl City!)”
Meghan has only been public with her boyfriend of six years, Mats Engdahl, so it’s unlikely there’s any additional information on her links with Adam.
